It’s All About You

Someone once said that the only true painful goodbyes are the ones that are never said and never explained. I think that’s true on the most past for the one saying goodbye. A heartfelt goodbye can be one of the most painful things you’ll experience. Saying goodbye to someone who meant so much to me was like closing a chapter on my life, and then burning the pages.

People drift in and out of our lives daily, but then there are those few you latch onto and can never really think of letting go. Unfortunately relationships change and if you fail to accept it, you risk loosing them; I lost. Whilst putting an end to a friendship was was my decision, I don’t regret it because sometimes you really do have to put yourself first.

I am a big believer in letting things happen and run their course, but you can’t ignore your heart. Mine was screaming to stop letting someone hurt it so much, so I had to listen – I owed it to myself. So whilst the universe is still in control, I merely steered it for a while. If someone you love is causing you pain, you have to let them go. Do I feel better for the decision? Yes. Am I sure about my decision? No, but when nothing is sure, everything is possible. I welcome the possibilities.
