Devotional Ideal:and there will a change in your life
Each day of Your life – if you put your faith and your confidence in the wisdom and power of God – you will be able to shatter the mountains of doubt, the clouds of despair - and instead live in the holiness and power of our God. We are called to live a life that reflects Christ – which to me means that I must put my faith and my hope in His Word and in His Holy Spirit’s power to see me through. If you will spend a quiet moment alone with God every day, you will soon find that you will be able to understand His will, His ways and the surpassing greatness of His power. He will show you how to live your life for Him. He will help you to recognize and define your spiritual gifts - and He will show you the path you need to walk on to use these gifts. I often reflect on what it means to walk in the fullness of the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit. I can honestly say that I am still a long way from completely understanding this miracle of God’s love for us. But, I can say that I am moving ahead. If nothing else, take a good hard look at the creation all around you. I recently stopped and looked at a flower for several minutes - just marveling at its beauty and the wonder of its creation. I have found that when I start to revert back to trusting in my own power to accomplish something – I must physically get up from where I am - and get outside to remind myself of the amazing and powerful God I serve. Generally, I can then go back and readjust my thinking to suit God’s purposes – and almost immediately my peace returns and my joy grows. This is simplistic I know – but it works for me. Prayer:

Thank You my sweet Jesus that every time I find myself on “empty”, You reach out and recharge my battery. I am keenly aware that if it were not for Your intervention, I would still be stumbling along in my own strength – totally oblivious to the possibilities and the potential You have laid out for my life.

I come before You today with a sense of awe and wonder – but also with a bit of fear and trembling. My spiritual sensitivity appears to be on alert, as I realize the charge You have placed on my life – which I know will result in a renewed and stronger faith – and a hunger for You that cannot be quenched. My heart pounds with gratitude.

I also know I have no earthly chance of seeing the reality of this, if I am not trusting in the power and wisdom of my God. It is far too easy to settle for a simple head knowledge that – while it is an awesome thing to possess – does not compare with what the Holy Spirit can do through me (us) - as Your glory is felt - and the gospel of truth preached in Your wisdom and power – for all the world to see.

Your transforming power is simply something I still cannot fully grasp – but it is real - and it is a constant force at work in my life - leading me ever deeper into Your kingdom truths and Kingdom realities. With each passing day, the “demonstration of the Spirit and of power”, pushes to the surface of my cluttered mind, causing me to hit the pause button - and quietly marvel at the miracles and wonders of my King and Lord at work all around me.

My prayer today is that everyone praying this prayer will receive a “divine encounter moment” of their own – as they pray - and that the end result will be a bended knee, marveling at the amazing greatness and power of our amazing God. As you work in their hearts, I trust You will help them to identify their own spiritual gifts - and seek You out for your wisdom - to help them discern the way those gifts are to be used.

I pray we will all make a daily attempt to “wait upon the Lord”, so we can stand on Your solid ground - where I know You will recharge our batteries, and give us the power needed to step out in faith every day. We are no earthly good to You if we are not listening.

You wait to give us a spiritual sensitivity we cannot begin to imagine. It all starts with the simple act of faith that charges us to come to You – sit and listen – worship and obey. It sounds simple I know Jesus, but the truth is, it is a very challenging thing to come daily into Your Presence. It does require a measure of obedience - and a raw faith that allows us to step out of our comfort zones - and simply rest in Your strength and Your power to get us through.

My confidence is in You Jesus – and in no other man, woman or child. You are a holy God, and I can only imagine the immensity of what that truly means. It is Your wisdom, Your power and Your holiness that hold my feet to the ground – and I know I only begin to grasp what that looks like, when I wait on You, and seek Your wisdom.

With every day that passes I see the reality of the deep things of my God. This makes me fall to my knees in worship as I realize You are willing to share these secrets with Your kids. I know I don’t understand it all, but I understand it enough to take daily, small steps of faith. I know when I do this, You are going to respond – so I know I cannot fail. Sharpen me like iron (us) so I can better see the mind and heart of my God – so I can understand what You truly desire – then use me to pass this on.

Thank You Jesus for the gift of faith, for the treasure of Your Divine wisdom found all through Your Word, and for the power of Your Holy Spirit. Thank You that I can step into this wisdom and power each day. To You Jesus be all the honor and the glory!
