Governor's Cup Already Showing Out Stars

The Oyo State Governor's Cup is dedicated to grass root development in the game of football, hence its insistence on secondary school participation.

Students in secondary school classes JSS 2 to SSS 3 are allowed to take part in the competition this year.

As young as this age group, one would think the students will lack confidence on the ball. But match number one today between Eruwa High school and Bode Thomas grammar school erase that doubt out of all spectators mind.

The Ibarapa zone ws represented by Eruwa high school and at the end of the game Eruwa was 3 goals up. Ogundiran Tobi was one of the skillful players to watch, he operated from the flags and was a constant terror in the defense line of the Bode Thomas grammar school.

Ogundiran scored the opening goal on this years quarter finals and was all the way comfortable with his act, dribbling and mesmerizing the opponents with his athletic composure and quick pacy passes.

Day one is gone but the skills displayed by Ogundiran is something to hold onto. Watch out for Ogundiran Tobi in this years Oyo State Governors Cup.
