saving on a shoestring
Many young people who are fortunate to be employed complain by the end of the month, there is nothing left to save; they give up on saving even before they start. A young man currently doing his youth service says, "i earn a reasonable income but by the end of the month i find myself always broke.this means i spend more than i earn but that i cant help". He continues, "how can i stop this over spending so i can be able to save even if it is a little but still have some more money for my basics and entertainment (my fellow guys call it flexing) ? even when i do save, something like a friends wedding comes up and you have to buy her a gift else or else i wont be forgiven and in fact there is another one coming up in 2 weeks time. it really is impossible to save"....
This is a common trend among us youths these days...even if someone earns a .5 million naira every month you remember you once admired a car last week, have to make a new hair ( for the ladies) which feels rily good, etc. It is really fun spending money that is a real fact that almost everyone can attest to, but it is very vital to save just a little out of one's earnings it doesn't matter how small...
You can even make it easier by paying yourself say 10% immedaitely after being paid or even better if you can tell your bank to debit a little to a prearranged account..In the end you find out that life gets easier and dont forget to make budgets.....it is very important
