Play / DL → ( 19811 plays)Before Qslimz could utilize her talents for her own solo endeavors, the rapper, writer, and songwriter Inyang Ukpong wrote a slew of songs, for some underground artist as part of the Kantata Entertainment and Productions team now Known as Kantata Republic. The dynamic, versatile Nigerian Artist is based in the United States. Addicted to TV talent shows like Star Search and Showtime at the Apollo, she was already plotting out her career in music at age 19. Even though her Father had bought her a piano to encourage those talents, she mainly wanted to perform; therefore, Qslimz converted those sessions into writing lessons. After Qslimz graduated from high school, she managed to continue juggling all these tasks when she enrolled at Eastern Michigan University in Michigan. In her mid- to late teens, she jump-started her career as a DJ and songwriter, working under Scurvy Nations in Ann Arbor Michigan and Recording samples of her work with “Big Creep” or Scurvy Nations. She eventually stopped Djaying and began working more with the lyrics. Attending school while actively working on her music career put a great demand on her, especially doing it on her own with no financial support of any sort. But as luck would have it, she kept on keeping on with her music disregarding the Nay sayers. She had relocated from Michigan to Baton Rouge, LA where she kept on writing until a friend of hers introduced her to Guss @gussmakemybeats a very well known producer here in Baton Rouge, LA where she kept on recording her songs. She Performed at club 600 Maine, Club Cultures and Opened for Nigerian Actors who visited Baton Rouge in 2009. On October 1st 2011 Qslimz Opened for Timaya during the 51st Nigerian Independence Celebration along side Naomi Achu in Dallas Texas. She is working on an upcoming project a collection of hit singles, compiling songs that are unfamiliar, unique, uncategorized genre and yet exeptional and immitable.
