Although born in the midwestern city of Chicago, and have spent most of her life outside Nigeria, Moni’s interest in Afro music grew during her 4 year residence in Nigeria. She attributes her decision to go into the music scene professionally to the massive positive feedback she got from listeners from far and wide after she released her first unofficial single, Try Me.
