He was a member of the hitbiz records R&B/hip hop group. Early life Safi boy was born in Sapele, Nigeria. He is from the sapele local government area and from the urhobo ethnic group in the Ethiop west part of Delta State, in Nigeria. [1] He attended Ufuoma mixed Secondary School in sapele, Delta State. He schooled briefly in The Delta State Polytechnic Otefe, where he did his sciences course in computer and management science. While attending DELSU he performed at school organized shows and parties, as well as other regional schools such as the University of Nigeria and Delta State University of Science & Technology . He would not graduate from college due to his goal he was shasing. and his Career While attending Delsu, Safi boy Abimbola started composing and singing jingles at the inversion studio and Club at Delta State Broadcasting Services (DSBS) in 1999. He would move to Lagos and started performing with fellow artiste yung Wonder j, Solidstar, Bling D, shun babe, Lace, Olamide, Bio Kez,Omojesu ,Ekene, John tero, sean tezzle, Erigga, Bleco G, kelvin, forming the Big Boyz Money [B.B.MONEY]. He had met Ekene while attending Delsu. [2] He started calling himself "saphyboy" in 2002 most of his fanz get the spellings of the name wrong as safiboy, but the correct spellings is saphyboy and the meaning is an hamlet use for the protection agains thunder both from the sun and this is refearing to those people who want him under the sun to perish and He is telling them that he is protected by his creator. He cited the reasoning as "trying to defend my city and where I come from. Problems with album distribution in 2011 caused as shift of the release date of the album from 2011 to 2012. Safi boy released two singles from the international version of his Unstoppable album.
