My mother-in-law left her home just to come & ruin the peace in my marriage. I'm so fed up & tired of this woman

Since I got married to my husband, his family keep demanding financial help here and there, just cos he happens to be the first child forgetting that he is now a married man. Him being first son doesn't mean he's going to carry everyone's problems in the family. The woman raised him & his 2 other siblings as a single mom when their father d!éd; my husband was 8 then. I think she struggled & sponsored my husband before God finally stepped in & blessed him with a good job.

But now she has been capitalizing on that, & they keep asking for money from my husband, forgetting that he also has a wife & a son. We've been married for just a year & a half. My husband might not be complaining, but I'm his wife, it's in my place to advise & guide him, which is very normal. We also have our own problems that need to be solved. I understand that my husband might be the breadwinner, but the point is that he is married too.

For goodness sake, I'm his wife now & my family also needs financial help; I also have siblings who need academic financial help as well. Even the Bible says a man shall leave his mother and father to be with his wife so they make make a lovely home. But how can that ever be possible when all these people do is ask for money? Now, She came to my house just to make trouble coz she heard I'm the one refusing her son to grant financial help.

I've tried to make her understand that he is now a married man & we also have issues, but she isn't willing to listen. Instead, she makes me feel uncomfortable in my own home for the past 2 weeks. My husband sits there & says nothing. Pls help me; how do I handle this situation? I mean Why am I his wife if I can't get financial help from my own husband for my family or at least direct or advise him on how to manage his finances? I'm getting tired coz this issue is really getting to me & to be honest, I might quit the marriage. I'm fedup already pls!
