I'm so fed up & tired of this woman Since I got married to my husband, his family keep demanding financial help here and there, just cos he happens to be the first child forgetting that he is now a married man. Him being first son doesn't mean he's going to carry everyone's problems in the family. The woman raised him & his 2 other siblings as a single mom when their father d!éd; my husband was 8 then. I think she struggled & sponsored my husband before God finally stepped in & blessed him with a good job. But now she has been capitalizing on that, & they keep asking for money from my husband, forgetting that he also has a wife & a son. We've been married for just a year & a half. My husband might not be complaining, but I'm his wife, it's in my place to advise & guide him, which is very normal. We also have our own problems that need to be solved. I understand that my husband might be the breadwinner, but the point is that he is married too. For goodness sake, I'm his wife now & my family also needs financial help; I also have siblings who need academic financial help as well. Even the Bible says a man shall leave his mother and father to be with his wife so they make make a lovely home. But how can that ever be possible when all these people do is ask for money? Now, She came to my house just to make trouble coz she heard I'm the one refusing her son to grant financial help. I've tried to make her understand that he is now a married man & we also have issues, but she isn't willing to listen. Instead, she makes me feel uncomfortable in my own home for the past 2 weeks. My husband sits there & says nothing. Pls help me; how do I handle this situation? I mean Why am I his wife if I can't get financial help from my own husband for my family or at least direct or advise him on how to manage his finances? I'm 41 years old, married 8 months ago. I understand that we are a newly married couple & we need space, but then, I'm the only child of my mom. Lost my dad at age 4, Mom raised me as a single parent. And today I'm a very successful man.. Actually, Momma used to be active; I used to go to the village & visit her, but now she is no longer as strong as she used to be. I feel she should be close to me so I can keep a close watch on her diet, health & be in a better position to take proper care of her. But the issue is, my wife is 4 months pregnant & has completely refused that I bring my mom to live with us in the same house.. I really don't understand because her own mom visits us on a weekly basis, & I'm always good to her, but my own mom isn't allowed to stay with us. Whenever I try asking why that is, she'll say she needs space to enjoy her marriage. Honestly, I love my wife just so much, & she loves me too; I'll practically do anything for her. My wife, is such a sweet woman, & I really don't want her to feel hurt, especially now that she's carrying my first child. I fear something might go wrong.
